Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a visa for this program?
No, this program is under 90 days so you can do it on a regular tourist visa. If you would like to stay for over 3 months we recommend adding on our Spanish & Developing Teacher course.
Is accommodation included in this package?
Yes, accommodation for your entire stay in Barcelona (3 months) is included in this package. You can read more about the accommodation service here.
Do I need teaching experience or Spanish knowledge to join this program?
No prior teaching experience is needed. The Trinity CertTESOL is designed for beginners and will prepare you to teach English professionally.

Will I get classroom teaching experience?
Yes, the CertTESOL includes observed teaching practice with real students.
Are the weekend excursions optional?
All excursions are included as part of the program, but participation is encouraged, not mandatory.
Will I have time to travel on my own?
Yes, there’s free time outside of scheduled classes and excursions to explore Barcelona and beyond.
What’s the accommodation like?
You’ll stay in a shared apartment with 2–3 other TEFL Iberia students, located within 30 min walking or public transport to the school. It will have all the facilities you’d expect from a modern apartment: space to study, bedding, privacy, wifi, use of the kitchen and a shared bathroom.
Are flights & food included?
No, international flights and meals are not included. However, your accommodation includes a shared kitchen where you can cook.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, but you must pay the full fee on the Friday before the program begins.
Can I get a student visa with this program?
This 3-month program alone doesn't qualify for a long-term visa, but we offer a 12-month option if you're looking to stay longer. See our TEFL & Spanish package for more info.
Can I extend my stay in Spain after the course ends?
Yes, but you must decide and apply for your student visa before you arrive in Barcelona. You cannot arrive in Spain on a tourist visa then convert to a student visa.
